I love helping people turn their wants and needs into an actionable plan for getting their ideas built. I love space planning a renovation, addition or new home. I love helping you pick colors and finishes and helping your builder figure out the difficult construction details. I love being a part of turning your house into the home you want it to be.

The only thing I don’t love about my job is that when the project is done I don’t get to live there with you…probably.

PROCESS

When you work with an architect, you are not buying a set of plans. You are investing in a person and a process to help get you from right now through living in your forever home. So what do architects do?

We sit around and quote Le Corbusier, because he said things like, “architecture is the masterly, correct and magnificent play of masses brought together in light.”

An architect is a formally trained, licensed professional who acts as your agent through the design and construction process of your home. When you hire me, you are not buying plans, you are paying for my time and professional advice, which is then translated through a set of plans and specifications.

Yes, we do draw plans. But we understand building code, life safety and zoning requirements. We understand materials and energy efficiency. We know structures so that we ensure the framing meets the needs of the design and not the other way around. We know kitchens and bathrooms and lighting and mechanical and plumbing and even interior design. And we understand construction so we can curate all the things I just listed to turn your goals into a complete, coordinated set of construction drawings that will leave you with a beautiful home.

Your addition or new construction home might be the most money you ever invest in something. Don't you think it's worth it to have a partner who knows structures AND and is thinking about the magnificent play of masses in light?!
